Patronage Payout Program

At Farm Credit Midsouth, you are more than just a borrower; you’re a member of a cooperative, which is a business owned and controlled by the people it serves, meaning farmers and ranchers in Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri. Most businesses share profits with their investors, so since our members are owners/investors, they receive a portion of our earnings as determined by the Board of Directors.
All eligible borrowers who have loans and/or leases that have contributed to the association’s net income are eligible for the program. Patronage refunds are determined by the amount of net interest income earned on each eligible borrower/owner during the previous year.
You’re more than a borrower, and we’re more than a lender – together we partner to make a difference in agriculture.
What Makes Farm Credit Midsouth Different from Other Lenders?
Our Patronage Payout Program is one notable difference. To us, you’re more than a borrower – as a cooperative, Farm Credit Midsouth members are actually owners/investors in our company. What does this mean for you? When Farm Credit Midsouth profits, as an investor, you receive a portion of the earning as determined by our board of directors.
All borrowers with loans and/or leases contributing to the association’s net income are eligible. So, if you have a loan with Farm Credit Midsouth that contributes to our annual profits, we return a portion of those earning to you in the following year.

How Much is Returned through the Patronage Payout Program?
Refunds are determined by the amount of net interest income earned on your loans during the previous year. The amount varies from member to member.
Patronage payments are considered taxable income. IRS Form 1099-PATR is sent to all recipients each January in the year following the actual patronage payment.
What is Patronage?
Our customers are also owners and they share in the profits when we have a good year. We call it Patronage Payout, and our members say it’s a great reason to do business with us.
